Thesis More Expensive to Print and Bind than Degree Itself

Thomas Adler, who happily handed in his Master’s thesis several months ago, had already forgotten about it completely until he was reminded by his examiners’ reports that he still had to deposit a hardbound version to his university library in order to technically graduate.

To his disbelief, the cost to print and bind his thesis came to exactly $1 million – “heaps” more than the degree itself.

‘I can’t believe it! I’ve already spent like, a bajillion dollars on the actual “education” or whatever, and now I have to spend another million to print a copy that no-one will ever read?’

Adler is currently debating whether or not he’ll bother depositing it and graduating, which he says will ‘just cost him another like zillion dollars to rent the hat and robe’.
